LSP - 6 : ubī habitant Īphiclēs et Herculēs?
On a previous page we encountered the questions ubī habitat Herculēs? and ubī habitat Iūnō? You may remember that the answers were Herculēs in Graeciā habitat and Iūnō in Olympō habitat. And hopefully you remember what all of this means.
You may also remember that habitat can mean she lives or he lives or it lives. These multiple meanings can become tiresome to read and write so let’s develop a shorthand - s/h/i lives. We can all agree on what this means.
In the question ubī habitant Īphiclēs et Herculēs? you will notice that the verb has changed its ending from habitat to habitant. This is because the Subject of the Verb is no longer s/h/i but they, which is plural. To be more specific, the Subject is Iphicles and Hercules. So, the questions is ubī habitant Īphiclēs et Herculēs? and the correct answer is Īphiclēs et Herculēs in Graeciā habitant.
I’ll assume that you can comfortably read this question and answer :
Q: ubī habitant Iūnō et Iuppiter?
A: Iūnō et Iuppiter in Olympō habitant.
